Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro specs: flagship comes with Snapdragon 820 processor, 6GB of RAM

Lenovo subsidiary ZUK has unveiled the Z2 Pro. The newest flagship smartphone succeeds the ZUK Z1 released last September. It comes with the latest technologies and is much improved compared to its predecessor.

The ZUK Z2 Pro smartphone features a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display with a 1920 x 1080 screen resolution and 424 ppi pixel density. The display has a Corning Gorilla Glass 2.5 curved glass panel on top. In terms of dimensions, the smartphone is 145.4 mm tall, 70.5 mm wide, and 7.5 mm thick. It also weighs 145 grams.

The smartphone is powered by a quad-core 2.15 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and the Adreno 530 graphics card. The recently announced ZUK Z2 Pro comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB internal storage. ZUK is also set to release a second variant with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage at a later date.

The ZUK Z2 Pro is equipped with a 13-megapixel ISOCELL rear camera with a f/1.8 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and dual-LED flash. For selfies and video calls, there is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a f/2.0 aperture and 1.4 um pixels.

The smartphone comes preloaded with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with the ZUI 2.0 on top. The UI brings in finger gestures that can recognize various types of taps and scrolling.

There is dual-SIM capability and 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS connectivity. The smartphone also comes with the latest USB Type-C port. For sensors, there is a fingerprint sensor on the home button, a heart rate sensor, a UV sensor, and an altimeter.

The ZUK Z2 Pro is powered by a 3,100 mAh battery. With Quick Charge 3.0, the smartphone can be charged to 83 percent in just 30 minutes.

There will be two color options — Titanium Black and Ceramic White.

The Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro (6 GB 128 GB) is now available to purchase in China for about $420. The downgraded variant (4 GB 64 GB) will be available by May 10. International availability has yet to be announced.
