All good things must come to an end.

For the cast and crew of "Longmire," that means saying a bittersweet goodbye to each other now that production for season four has come to an end.

The critically acclaimed western has just wrapped up filming all 10 episodes in New Mexico and now it is off to post-production to get it ready for release. The cast of the popular show have taken to social media to inform fans of the development and to also say goodbye to their fellow actors and "Longmire" staff.

Louanne Stephens, who plays the sheriff's dispatcher Ruby, posted some behind-the-scenes shenanigans, including a sweet photo of her and "Longmire" lead Robert Taylor. The two have developed a close relationship that was implicit in her message -- "saying goodbye to the sherrif for season 4. Jealous, girls? The kindest man @LongmirePosse #longmire"

Cassidy Freeman (Cady Longmire) paid tribute to the crew while Lou Diamond Phillips said goodbye to the state of New Mexico in a photo with the caption "From #YoungGuns to #Longmire, you've been my 'pal.' Thanks Santa Fe & New Mexico! @NewMexicoFilm #NewMexicoTrue."

While Phillips meant to say goodbye to the fourth season, some fans immediately got worried that the actor was saying a permanent goodbye to the series. The 53-year-old had to clarify the situation with another post.

It is understandable why fans got antsy about the fate of "Longmire" as this season almost never happened. The show was cancelled by A&E despite showing strong numbers for three seasons. An organized and intense Twitter campaign to get the show back on air ended in victory when Netflix picked up the series for another season.

Now stars have to make another push to ensure that the show will stay on air for several more seasons.

"Longmire" season four is expected to be released by Netflix in the fall, although the site has not released any specific date yet.
