'Longmire' season 5 premiere spoilers: speculations on Walt and Vic romance

(Twitter / Longmire Posse)Walt and Vic will be back for "Longmire" season 5 on Netflix and their relationship is speculated to finally take a romantic turn.

Actress Katee Sackhoff shared an onset photo of herself and co-star Robert Taylor as they reprise their roles as Vic and Walt, respectively, for "Longmire" season 5. The characters are also speculated to finally enter a relationship in the upcoming season.

The photo uploaded on Instagram shows them in a police operation and it is accompanied by the caption, "So close yet seems so far away!! #Longmire @netflixSeptember 23rd can't come soon enough. Here's a sneak peek of the new season by Mr @dennydenn himself to hopefully ease the wait. Xoxoxo."

The novel by author Craig Johnson where the TV show is based on shows the couple entering into a romantic relationship, but it has yet to happen in the series. Some viewers are excited to see them together as they seem to have hinted at an increasing attraction in the previous season. However, some also feel that a romantic relationship between the two should not happen because of the age difference between them.

"Longmire" used to air on A&E but was canceled after season 4. Netflix picked up the series for season 4 and has renewed it for the upcoming season 5. There is no news yet regarding another season and, while others believe the network will continue to support the show, there are those who also think it is likely to end soon.

Some talks suggest Walt and Vic will end up together, while others say one or both of them will die in the upcoming season. There also rumors that say actor Lou Diamond Phillips will lead the cast of the upcoming season, should the show be renewed. Phillips portrays the character Henry Standing Bear, an Indian native and bestfriend to Walt. He is one of the most-loved characters on the show and the actor's portrayal has received good reviews.

Speculations will soon be put to rest with the premiere of "Longmire" season 5 on Sept. 23 on Netflix.
