A few weeks from now, American crime drama "Longmire" will finally return for a fifth season on the popular streaming platform Netflix. Rumor has it that the upcoming season will feature a love triangle and the devastating end of a strong friendship.

According to reports, season 5 of the crime drama may finally tackle the romance between Walt (Robert Taylor) and Vic (Katee Sackhoff). If the upcoming season will follow more of the plotline from the books, then fans can expect Walt and Vic's relationship to deepen and their future plans together to finally be defined.

Sackhoff also shared a promo photo of the series' season 5 on her official Instagram account. It showed her character Vic with Walt in their police uniforms. Although it may look like the two characters are on duty, there are speculations that the two will finally be more romantic.

However, in the previous season, Walt was seen having an affair with Donna (Ally Walker). Walt may have to sort things out with Donna first before he can pursue a more serious relationship with Vic.

Rumor has it that Walt and Vic will finally marry. However, it might not go as smoothly as expected. Walt's friend Henry (Lou Diamond Phillips) may be one of the major hurdles that the couple has to overcome since he also has feelings for Vic. He may even resort to causing a car accident involving the two to prevent them from getting their happy-ever-after ending.

Recently, Phillips shared details about the possible rift between his character Henry and Walt in an interview with Access Hollywood Live.

"The last we saw, Henry was being carted off to jail by Zahn McClarnon, who plays Mathias. In that scene, you will see what happens — if they cut a deal. Henry will be continuing his dual role as Hector, the sort-of vigilante, justice-bringer to the reservation, which will put him on a collision course with Walt Longmire, his best friend," Phillips explained.

"Longmire" season 5 will be released on Sept. 23 on Netflix.
