'Madam Secretary' season 3 spoilers: Elizabeth to decline the vice presidency after encounter with a terrorist group

(CBS)Spoilers claim that Elizabeth will decline the offer of President Dalton to be his vice president.

It's a little more than two months before "Madam Secretary" returns for its third season run, but, this early, there are already various speculations on how its forthcoming season may pan out. The latest in the rumor mill is that Elizabeth (Téa Leoni) will not grab a life-changing opportunity after a frightful event influences her decision.

According to reports, Elizabeth will find herself dealing with a terrorist group called "Boko Haram" in an episode that will be titled "Desperate Remedies." In this episode, the terrorist group holds some schoolgirls as their captives. However, upon learning that one of the members of "Boko Haram" has fallen seriously ill because of a deadly virus, Elizabeth will use the group's predicament as a leverage so that they will release their captives.

It was also reported a few weeks back that the CBS drama was spotted filming some of its scenes in the Bronx. According to TV Line, the scenes in reference involve the major scary event in Jason's (Evan Roe) school that will be shown in the premiere episode of "Madam Secretary" season 3. Connecting the dots, it's easy to assume that the scary event may actually be a reference to the "Boko Haram" incident.

Nonetheless, there is no denying that what most avid fans of the show are waiting for is whether Elizabeth take the offer of President Dalton (Keith Carradine) to become his vice president. It can be recalled that in the season 2 finale of the series, Elizabeth thought that she was being fired by her boss. However, it turns out that she was just being offered to assume the country's second most important post.

"Here I am offering you the second most important job in the country, and you're poking at my conscience. Any wonder why I want you to take the job?" said President Dalton after explaining to Elizabeth that the current health condition of his Vice President Mark Delgado (Alex Fernandez) no longer makes him fit as the second most powerful person on land.

While the offer may be tempting, many viewers of the show believe that Elizabeth will turn down the offer. In a poll conducted by TV Line, most viewers bet that Elizabeth will seriously consider the offer but will not accept it eventually as an international crisis will require her expertise as the state secretary.

Will Elizabeth really become the vice president? Could the event that happened in Jason's school is the one that involves the "Boko Haram?" Will that particular incident influence Elizabeth's decision to decline the vice presidency?

Find out when "Madam Secretary" returns to CBS for its season 3 on Oct. 2, Sunday, at 9/8c.
