Manchester United Transfer News: Team prepares for big summer

(PHIL NOBLE / REUTERS)Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has big plans for the team in the summer.

After salvaging this season and finishing fourth in the English Premier League, Manchester United are looking to make a big splash in the transfer market.

Finishing in the fourth place, the Red Devils will also make their return to the UEFA Champions League next year and already have prospected players to beef-up their squad for more matches next year.

Rumors have surfaced that Argentine flop Angel Di Maria is set to leave Old Trafford, with France likely to be his destination.

Ligue 1 champions Paris-Saint Germain are said to be interested in Di Maria, but are put off by the £59.7 million price tag on the star.

However, it seems that PSG are ready to swap defender Gregory van der Weil to help lower the price of the former Real Madrid player.

Aside from offloading Di Maria, manger Louis van Gaal is looking to make a big transfer splash in the summer, as he is ready to make bids for three international stars.

Real Madrid's Gareth Bale has not found life in Spain very pleasant, as he was constantly berated despite playing at the Bernabeu. His failure to give Madrid a title this year has led to speculations about his departure, and it seems that United are ready to make a swoop for the star.

Bale is currently rated at £85.3 million.

Meanwhile, van Gaal is not looking too far as he is eyeing two of the top stars in the Premier League to add to his roster.

Tottenham Hotspur hotshot Harry Kane helped the Spurs finish fifth in the EPL, and reach the UEFA Europa League.

He is priced at £45 million and LVG is willing to spend.

Raheem Sterling of Liverpool has also expressed his intent to leave the club after seeing the Reds finish sixth in the league. Priced at £50 million, he is another name expected to move to United.

It should be a very busy time for the Red Devils as they look to return to prominence, and for fans of the club, this summer will be as exciting as the season that just ended.
