Filipino Manny Pacquiao is world-renowned for his agility inside the boxing ring, and rumors are surfacing that his next fight will be against American Chris Algieri. Is there truth to this?

After Chris Algieri turned out to be victorious against Russian boxer Provodinkov, he is rumored to be Manny Pacquiao's next opponent. Bob Arum, CEO of Top Rank, who sets up fights for Manny Pacquiao, has said in the past that the winner against the Provodinkov-Algieri match might very well be Pacquiao's next competitor.

Algieri has also expressed his desire to fight the world-famous Filipino boxer, and with the biggest win of his career just wrapping up, it can be a huge possibility.

Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach, has spoken to The Los Angeles Times in the past and has said that Juan Miguel Marquez, who has battled Pacquiao four times, will most likely not agree to a fifth match. This paves the way for a spot for Algieri in the said forthcoming July match in Las Vegas.

Algieri talked to Boxing Scene, and said that if he'll ever be given an opportunity to fight Pacquiao, it will surely be a "good fight."

"It's a great fight. To be in there with a guy like Manny, definitely a future Hall of Famer, it would be awesome and I think stylistically it could be a good matchup. He's another dangerous guy but I think my style would match up well," said Algieri to Boxing Scene, as reported by The Epoch Times.
