'Married at First Sight' season 3: Show may have been cancelled after restraining order brought against a participant

Show is rumored to be cancelled because of an altercation between participants

It has been a month since the airing of "Married at First Sight" season two's "Six Months Later" episode and fans are still reeling from the results of this social experiment of a show.

While viewers of the reality series are already excited to find out more about the upcoming season, an official announcement of season three has not been made. In fact, recent reports that have surfaced paint a bleak picture of the third series being green-lighted.

"Married at First Sight," which first premiered in 2014, is an American reality television series initially broadcasted on FYI and eventually simulcasted on A&E.

Season two, which included Jessica Castro and Ryan De Nino, Davina Kullar and Sean Varricchio, and Jaclyn Methuen and Ryan Ranellone, did not end as successfully as the pilot season. After the one month marriage experiment, Davina and Sean decided to get divorced while it was revealed during the "Six Months Later" episode that none of the remaining two couples have stayed together.

Recently, several news outlets have claimed that there is a good possibility that season two of "Married at First Sight" was its last season. According to the reports, A&E and FYI are in hot water since it seems like the networks did not conduct the necessary background checks on all of their participants before pairing them up.

An article by the New York Post has revealed that Jessica Castro filed a restraining order against Ryan De Nino after he allegedly threatened to harm her and her family. De Nino has posted an image of the restraining order on his Instagram and has recently commented saying,

"Unfortunately this isn't something I'd wish on anyone. To hear and read about the forum on Thursday to come home and find this on Friday. To see the IG on Sat and see the location was enough. They say first 48 for a reason. This is another fact here's the order of protection- which had me in awe and when I read it was disgusted. Bash me all you want, say whatever it is about me just remember this board don't break for nada. Why I posted this will be thoroughly explained when the times right. #CheckMate"

No word yet if Married at First Sight would be returning for a third season. However, what seems to be a replacement or spin-off of the reality show, titled "Seven Year Switch," would air another episode tonight, July 14, 2015 so fans can rest easy as they can still get their social experiment fix.
