Marvel's "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." had an explosive season two finale in which Skye's mother, Jiaying died and some unexpected physical changes occurred in Coulson. While it's still too early to tell what fans can expect from season three, the latest news about the upcoming season is that Luke Mitchell will be a series regular.

Marvel has announced that the handsome Australian actor, who plays the electricity-wielding Inhuman Lincoln Campbell, has joined the successful series as a regular cast member. He was introduced in April on the series as an Inhuman from Afterlife who helped Skye realize her true potential.

His allegiance was to the Inhumans tribe led by Skye's mother, but it changed after she once attacked S.H.I.E.L.D. Speaking about the actor, executive producer and head of Marvel television Jeph Loeb said, "Luke proved a valuable addition to our cast in Season 2, and after seeing him light up the screen with his charisma we knew we had to have him back for more."

For those who want to know what's in store for the charismatic actor, Loeb teased that they had major plans for him. "Our writers have come up with big plans for the character of Lincoln in our next season, and we can't wait for fans to see everything we have in store."

As for the big bad for season three, it is obvious that actor Brett Dalton's character, Grant Ward, will be the villain. However, in an interview to Zap2It, the star teased that his character may not be all that bad, "He is, I guess, officially a total bad guy now, and the head of the bad guys, but I think there's always that chance. I think what keeps you tuning in every week is there's still that chance that he might still be a good guy underneath all of that."

Fortunately, fans will have to wait for only a few months to see the fate of Skye, Ward and Lincoln, as Marvel's "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." will premiere on Tuesdays this fall at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
