The fourth installment of the third-person shooter video game "Mass Effect" was first announced to be released in the holidays of 2016. In a recent conference, however, Electronic Arts (EA) has made it known that the game will be out between January and March 2017 instead.

The announcement was made by EA's chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media Telecom Conference. He also addressed their many patrons and said, "Thank you again for all the support you keep showing us, and we're looking forward to sharing more details with you near the end of the year," reports Trusted Reviews. Jorgensen continued, "Until then, our teams in our Montreal, Edmonton, and Austin studios will be hard at work creating an entirely new adventure for you to lose in."

"Mass Effect Andromeda" is developed by BioWare and published by EA, and the announcement trailer with a country music in the background teases of improved graphics, new galaxy to discover, and an overall better gaming experience.

"Mass Effect 3" was released back in 2012 and won "Best RPG of 2012" at the "2012 Spike Video Games Award." The success of the game and its predecessor makes "Mass Effect Andromeda" a much-anticipated sequel in the gaming community. However, despite sharing the same name, the publisher has made it clear that the upcoming game is not a continuation of the 2012 release.

BioWare Studio General Manager Aaryn Flynn revealed, "When we wrapped up the original Mass Effect trilogy with 'Mass Effect 3: Citadel' in early 2014, planning and designing on 'Mass Effect: Andromeda' was already well underway. We knew we wanted to start with a foundation composed of the best parts of any Mass Effect game: exciting new worlds to discover, great characters and intense action."

More information regarding the game is expected to be announced in the coming months.
