Racing enthusiasts have been on standby regarding Michael Schumacher's health progress after his skiing accident in France.

According to the racecar driver's representative, Sabine Kehm, and International Automobile Federation's President, Jean Todt, Schumacher is making slow progress. Fans and followers of the F1 star are still yearning for more information about his progress.

Crossmap has reported that the world champion is still unable to speak. In the past, the driver's friend, Philippe Streiff, has made a statement that Schumacher is slowly slurring words. The statements were contradicted by Schumacher's manager.

Though this might be the case, the driver is presenting signs of feeling emotions around his children and his wife each time they try to talk to him. Air Herald reports that Shcumacher is still unable to perform independent movements and can only communicate by opening and closing his eyes. The report also states that the driver, if able, responds to the voices of his close family members since these are the voices he recognizes.

As of now, Schumacher is still being moved around through a wheelchair and will soon go under physical therapy and controlled therapy so he can be able to walk on his own. The therapy will also ensure that the F1 driver's muscles and bones do not degenerate over the lack of physical activity during the time that he is bed ridden.

Though Schumacher's recovery might still be seen as long-term, he is still showing progress by being able to recognize the voices of his family members. As of now, it is still uncertain as to how much of his old self will Schumacher regain, but family, friends, and fans are hoping that the world champion can at least get his motor skills back.
