In an upcoming episode of ABC's hit mockumentary "Modern Family," the Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker clan will see the good, the bad, and the ugly within the five minutes of their day.

As revealed in the synopsis of episode 18 of "Modern Family" season 8, titled "Five Minutes," Cam (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitchell Pritchett (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) will be taking a trip. They will have five minutes to board the plane. But with the sleeping pills they took beforehand starting to take effect, will they be able to reach their plane on time?

Elsewhere in the episode, Claire (Julie Bowen) and Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell) will travel all the way to surprise their daughter Alex (Ariel Winter). But it seems like they will be the ones to be surprised. When they meet up with Alex, she will give her parents a five-minute introduction to her boyfriend, whom she has been seeing secretly for a while.

As for the Dunphy's eldest daughter, Haley (Sarah Hyland), she and her boyfriend Rainer (Nathan Fillion), will have to rethink their relationship during his birthday celebration. They have five minutes before the cake arrives. They have five minutes to think about whether to continue the relationship or not before the rest of the partygoers burst into a chorus of "happy birthday."

Meanwhile in the Pritchett family, Jay (Ed O'Neill) and Gloria (Sofia Vergara) will dissolve into their backseat argument, and Manny (Rico Rodriguez) has no intention of meddling. His main concern is finding a parking space before the movie starts. He has, once again, five minutes to do so.

The current season of ABC's highest-rated comedy series is only a few episodes away from the finale. And the network has yet to renew the show for a new season. Deadline reports that negotiations are ongoing, and that the parties are looking forward to return next season.

"Modern Family" season 8 episode 18, titled "Five Minutes," is slated to premiere on Wednesday, March 29, at 9 p.m. EDT on ABC.
