'Mortal Kombat X' news: Kombat Pack 3 release date uncertain; 'MKXL' to be made available in PC soon

(Xbox Store)The tenth installment of the "Mortal Kombat" gaming series is speculated to received updates soon.

A lot of fans are anticipating the arrival of "Mortal Kombat X's" Kombat Pack 3 since it will include more playable characters, but not many details have been released yet. On the brighter side, gamers will soon be getting their hands on "Mortal Kombat XL" for the PC platform.

As mentioned in reports, the developer of "Mortal Kombat X," NetherRealm Studios, has been mum with regards to their upcoming downloadable content (DLC), Kombat Pack 3. A lot of fans were expecting it to be announced during the 2016 Evolution Championship Series but the game was a no-show during the event.

It was reported before that the co-creator of the popular fighting game, Ed Boon, mentioned that they do not want to unveil their plans just yet. This is the reason why as of the moment, the developers have not been releasing any details about the latest DLC.

On the other hand, Boon has also announced new information about the video game via his Twitter account. He tweeted, "MKXL players! We WILL soon release a game-play balance patch & ideally would like to target its release along with the PC launch of MKXL !!"

This means that a new patch update will soon be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms which would resolve some balancing issues within the game. The upcoming "Mortal Kombat XL" for PC will also get the same patch update.

It may take a while before Kombat Pack 3 comes out since NetherRealm Studios may still be focused on another game, "Injustice 2," and it is anticipated to be released in 2017. Many fans are still confident though that the latest DLC for "Mortal Kombat X" is in the works and will be launched once the developers are done with "Injustice 2."

The exact release date for Kombat Pack 3 has not been announced yet, but it could be released in 2017. The latest patch update for "Mortal Kombat X" will be launched on Oct. 4 while Oct. 5 will see the arrival of  Kombat Pack 2 for the PC.
