'Mortal Kombat XL' and Kombat Pack 2 release date for PC on October 4: what to expect

(Facebook/Mortal Kombat)"Mortal Kombat XL" can be played on the PC beginning Oct. 4.

After it was thought that "Mortal Kombat XL" will not be available for PC, Warner Bros. has confirmed that the game is arriving on the said platform along with its downloadable content (DLC), the Kombat Pack 2, beginning Oct. 4.

Although the imminent arrival of "Mortal Kombat XL" was already teased by its co-creator Ed Boon on his Twitter account earlier, it was only recently that it was confirmed that it is, indeed, heading to the said platform.

With the arrival of "Kombat XL" on PC, fans of the said game can now expect to lay their hands on the game along with its first-ever DLC, the Kombat Pack 1, which means they will also encounter guest characters such as Leatherface from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and Xenomorph from "Aliens." Players will also be treated to the presence of Jason Voorhees from the "Friday the 13th" franchise and "Predator" from the movie "Predators" on the game as these characters are included in the Kombat Pack 2.

Apart from the news that the said game and its corresponding DLC are arriving on PC, it has also been learned that Warner Bros. has relegated the game update responsibility to Qloc after relying on High Voltage and NetherRealm studios for the technical updates of the games it releases.

On the other hand, while there is no stopping "Mortal Kombat XL" and its DLCs from arriving to the PC next month, fans can only wonder when the highly anticipated Kombat Pack 3 will arrive. It has been learned that Boon once again turned to Twitter to ask his followers what they want next for "Mortal Kombat X." Although Boon did not include Kombat Pack 3 in the choices he provided for the poll he created, many people commented that they want the said DLC to happen next.

Because of this, some people believe that the said DLC may still be far from fruition, although Boon already teased of its possibility some months ago, because, after all, Boon himself confirmed that his hands are currently tied to the development of "Injustice 2, " which is expected to be released next year.
