'Mr. Robot' season 2 spoilers: Elliot ready to take over fsociety?

(Facebook/WhoIsMrRobot)Elliot is tagged as the leader of revolution in "Mr. Robot" season 2.

Elliot (Rami Malek) is in no condition to take over fsociety if the organization chooses him to become its leader in the upcoming season of the hit series "Mr. Robot."

From how it looks like in the promo, the hacker is still battling with his inner demons in the new installment. Mr. Robot (Christian Slater), who exists solely in his imagination, is still very much a strong force, able to reduce Elliot into a quivering wreck with a single word. Elliot cannot seem to shake him off his mind even if he wants to.

In the clip, Mr. Robot is urging him to become the leader of the revolution. After the fall of E Corp, the fsociety has been on the warpath. As the person who took the corporation down, Elliot has first dibs on the leader's position. Will he be well enough to lead his comrades?

When E Corp collapsed, triggering a worldwide economic meltdown, hackers all over the world hailed the culprit. Elliot was able to pull it off, thanks to Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallstrom). The disgruntled employee wanted revenge over the bosses who failed to give him a promotion. Tyrell has been on the run since then, but speculations say he will soon return to ask fsociety for a chance to become a member. If so, he and Elliot may be the leading contenders for the top position.

Meanwhile, season 2 will have an additional two episodes. Instead of the previously announced ten, the USA Network has decided to give the show 12 episodes in total. The two-hour premiere is scheduled for July 13, beginning at 10 p.m. EST. After that, a live after-show titled "Hacking Robot" will be held. The network promises that there will be very little commercial interruptions during the airing.

Chris McCumber, President Entertainment Networks, NBC Universal Cable Entertainment, recently expressed his excitement over the upcoming season (as per Variety).

"The first season of 'Mr. Robot' was everything we hoped for – and then some. So it's no surprise that Sam and team have raised the bar even more in Season 2. From the first moments of the new season, it'll be clear that audiences are in for something incredibly special and wholly unexpected," he said.

"Mr. Robot" will air Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST on the USA network.
