'Narcos' season 2 rumors: Son Juan Pablo not a fan of series; Pablo Escobar drama back August 26, 2016?

"Narcos" is perhaps one of the more controversial shows out there, what with it revolving around controversial drug kingpin Pablo Escobar. Gearing up for another season, the show is yet to pin its' release date but it is already plagued with rumors and speculations from excited fans regarding release date and plot line.

All 10 episodes of "Narcos" season one dropped on Netflix last Aug. 28. The response from viewers and critics have been overwhelming, causing the Internet streaming service to renew the crime drama for another season shortly after. But two months later, not much is still known about the sophomore season save for some rumours and speculations.

iDigitalTimes reported back in October that the Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura) drama might return on August 2016. This is actually not a far-fetched theory as Netflix does have the tendency to debut new seasons on the same month as the show's initial premiere. Because "Narcos" premiered on August this year, it is likely that season two will do the same. And if this year's release really is the basis, then Aug. 26 might be a likely bet for a season two premiere.

While many are looking forward to Escobar's story returning on Netflix, his son is not. The kingpin's son, Juan Pablo, said he is not satisfied with the portrayal of his father's life, with the creators missing out on the crucial details that viewers need to know.

"First, they should include chapters showing how the [U.S.] Drug Enforcment Agency (DEA) charged my dad 'taxes' so he could send cocaine to the U.S. territory via Miami International Airport," Juan Pablo told Brazilian newspaper O Estado de Sao Paolo (as quoted by TeleSur TV).

He further explained that he offered to be a consultant on the show but that director José Padilha refused. Then he added that the way Padilha is presenting the story is a grave insult to Colombia's history and to those who been victimised by drug-trafficking.

But even with this disapproval from Pablo Escobar's son, the story is surging on with a new season. Stay tuned for more updates on the return of "Narcos" to Netflix.
