2K Games has made known that the much-awaited sequel, "NBA 2K17," will be released in September for the following modules: PlayStation 4, XboxOne, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. While waiting for the date, interested gamers may now pre-order.

The Legends Live On says the marketing phrase of "NBA 2K17," which is set to take the game to new heights and continue to blur the lines between video game and reality. The game franchise boasts of its realistic take on arguably America's favorite past time, and each installment manages to outdo its predecessor.

For the newest installation, the game will come in Standard Edition, Legend Edition, and Legend-Edition Gold.

The Standard Edition comes with 5,000 Virtual Currency, My Team Bundle (includes 3 packs with guaranteed Paul George Free Agent card), and two more additional items.

The Legend Edition contains a limited-edition Kobe Bryant poster, Black Mamba controller skin, and 2 pieces of Panini Kobe trading cards. The package also contains 30,000 Virtual Currency, MyTeam Bundle (includes 3 packs with guaranteed Kobe Free Agent card), 2K Kobe XI shoe, Kobe #8 Mitchell & Ness Jersey, Kobe hoodie, and two more additional items.

The Legend Edition-Gold will have all the contents of the Legend Edition plus an extra 70,000 Virtual Currency, MyTeam Gold Bundle (includes 2 extra packs), 24 Nike Kobe Shoe Collection, and a Lenticular Cover Insert.

The Kobe-centric edition is expected as the player who is known to be the youngest player in league history to reach 30,000 career points retired this year.

One of the major complaints by players in the "NBA 2K16" game was the face scan feature. To address the problem, "NBA 2K17" is introducing a face scan app so that capturing one's face becomes easier from the phone. The upcoming game is also revealed to have new signature animations as observed from players in the past season.

"NBA 2K17" will be available on Sept. 20, but those who pre-order will get their games four days earlier.
