After a week long hiatus, "NCIS" will finally return to the small screen with an exciting episode titled "Troll". In episode 22, viewers will see the death of a naval intelligence employee and a surprising friendship between Jake and Gibbs.

TVGuide reports that the team is set to solve another murder mystery when an ensign who worked in the office of Naval Intelligence is murdered. However, the team will get assistance from special agent Ned Dorneget. Dorneget is from the NCIS cyber operations team and will provide expertise needed to solve the case.

Yibada reports that Dorneget's role will be portrayed by actor Matt Jones and star Jamie Bamber will also reprise his role as NSA attorney Jake Malloy. Malloy is also Bishop's husband so it will be interesting to see how the two handle the investigation together. The promotional video makes it seem like the case is top secret and even those at the top of the organization aren't privy to the information on the case file. It certainly seems like an episode worth a watch.

"NCIS" is also gradually inching towards season 12's finale episode that is sure to keep fans on the edges of their seats. As per TVGuide, the final episode will revolve around a global terrorist organization.

A three-episode arc will finally culminate in the finale episode. The recruitment of a disenfranchised teenager into a terrorist group through the Internet will see NCIS team members traveling to Egypt and Iraq. Executive producer Gary Glasberg teases, "At the end of the penultimate episode, something pretty atrocious happens and we lose someone very close to us in the process." Glasberg also hinted an exciting and emotional episode as everyone doesn't make it out alive. In the penultimate episode of season 12, expect some familiar faces and fan-favorites to show up.

"Troll" airs on Tuesday, April 28 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
