Nicki Minaj tweets on race, possible diss at Iggy Azalea?

Nicki Minaj tweets on "racism is alive & well" seems for some fans as another diss at Iggy Azalea; barely a month after she was thought to have knocked Azalea in her BET Awards speech for Best Female Hip Hop Artist on June 29.

Her intense tweets on July 23 are some cryptic messages of real world success and race.

Minaj said in her tweets she has worked hard to achieve success and does not take kindly to others whom she alleges took shortcuts to be on top.

She likewise suggested some people's sudden undeserving success was because of race. Could she again be referring to rap competitor Azalea, who is white, and at the same time quite the overnight sensation?

She said in her speech she thanks God for her position, in which she aims to represent women in a male-dominated culture.

She said she wrote all her songs. Azalea, on the other hand, has songs of which lyrics are rumored to be ghostwritten by rapper T.I.

However, through some tweets on July 2, Minaj denied her speech was directed at Azalea. She said that media seem to put words in her mouth when she only spoke about women writing, just like men, and have their voices heard.

She also congratulated Azalea on Fancy's success, saying nominated women should be proud.

Iggy Azalea achieved success in the female rap category with "Fancy," but was unable to get everyone's favor, and that is expected.

Meanwhile, rapper T.I. came to Azalea's defense declaring he did not ghostwrite the Australian artist's lyrics.

In an interview with Hot 107.5 of Detroit, he said Azalea has her own ideas to present to everyone. He admits, though, that people in the studio help each other with hooks and other stuff, and that is also true with him and the other five artists.
