Nintendo has already unveiled the release date for its new gaming console, the Nintendo NX, and it is scheduled to drop in March 2017. However, one gaming analyst by the name of Michael Pachter has voiced out his belief that the console will likely get delayed.

Pachter is a Wedbush Securities analyst and is known for his forecasting of various things in the gaming industry. While speaking to GameTag, Pachter revealed that he thinks Nintendo won't be able to deliver on its promise to release the Nintendo NX on time.

He argues that since Nintendo did not showcase the Nintendo NX during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) that just concluded, then it must mean that it isn't ready for a release yet. However, he does go on to say that a March launch is still possible if Nintendo shows the NX by August or September.

If Nintendo doesn't make it in time for their intended schedule, then it is likely that they will opt for a summer 2017 release instead.

But the Nintendo NX was not the only thing Pachter thought was going to suffer a delay in launch. He also believes that Sony's PS4 Neo will be released around mid-2017. Although PS4 Neo has not been given an official launch date by Sony, it is widely believed that it will drop in October, along with the PlayStation VR.

Additionally, Pachter thinks that releasing a gaming console around the holiday season would be difficult in terms of demand. "It's easier to launch a product in mid year because you don't have gift givers buying it, so you don't have quite as big of a demand and you can actually satisfy demand from the fanboys," he said.

Of course, fans should take this with a grain of salt since neither company has made a statement regarding the matter. Regardless, gamers are surely excited about the new gaming consoles coming their way.
