'Orange is the New Black' 4 spoilers: Alex is looking for the 'old Piper'; new character coming to show

Fans of "Orange is the New Black" saw Taylor Schilling's character Piper slowly turning into a villain. The erstwhile heroine of the show went to such dark place that Alex (Laura Prepon) broke it off with her. And with Piper framing Stella by putting contraband in the inmate's bed during the season finale, it would seem that her journey to the dark side is complete.
However, fans are hoping that Piper's lover, Alex, will be able to bring her back to her old self, a sentiment that Prepon has hinted to as well.
According to the "That 70's Show" star, the reason that Alex and Piper have such a cool relationship was because they can see through each other's actions.
"I think that Alex knows that she's putting it on – it's not really her," she said. "It's one of the reasons why Alex dumped (Piper) in Season 3."
The actress added that Alex would be looking for "the real Piper" next season.
Schilling appears to enjoy playing a dark Piper but admits that there's a big possibility her character will be changing and making amends soon. Aside from Alex' influence, one reason for the return of the old Piper is the influx of new prisoners, which would make it hard for her to continue with her tough persona.
Among the new inmates is Alana Dwight, portrayed by "The Echo Friendly's" lead singer, Shannon Esper. Dwight is described as a meek inmate that's impossible to hate. There are rumors she might be another Brook Soso (Kimiko Glenn) but the only way to be sure of that is to watch the next season.
There have also been reports that the show's producers are thinking of having Caitlyn Jenner do a cameo next season. Sources say that Jenner's appearance would complement Sophia's (Laverne Cox) storyline. While the idea is admittedly intriguing, Cox has laughed it off and said that she's "pretty sure that's not true."
Season four of "Orange is the New Black" will be returning to Netflix in 2016.
