Production for "Orange Is the New Black" season 5 is already underway, but very few details have surfaced.

The fourth season of the popular Netflix show started streaming on June 17, but production for the next season has allegedly started. This might have been substantiated by an Instagram post by Danielle Brooks (Taystee), which shows her in character. The photo was captioned that it was like she "never left the joint."

Season 4 of the comedy-drama TV series showed how different Litchfield is now under new management and with more inmates. A power-hungry Piper (Taylor Schilling) has apparently met her match, while her erstwhile lover Alex (Laura Prepon) survived an attempt on her life with some help from Lolly (Lori Petty). Fans were also shocked by Poussey's (Samira Wiley) death, Lolly being sent to the psych ward, and Blanca (Laura Gomez) standing up against the mistreatment the inmates have received.

While no one knows what's in store for the ladies of Litchfield in season 5, a number of teases and wishful thinking from the cast and fans have surfaced. Of course, fans are in tenterhooks over how the season 4 cliffhanger will be resolved. Will Daya (Dascha Polanco) pull the trigger on Humphrey (Michael Torpey)? The CO had been a bane to a lot of inmates and had forced Suzanne (Uzo Aduba) to fight Kukudio (Emily Althaus). If Daya does shoot someone, what will it mean for the rest of the inmates?

Season 4 also saw Blanca's surprising backstory and the sudden backbone she showed. There are reports that the character might be taking over the leadership of the prison from Piper, who has admittedly become power-hungry and erratic.

Fans are also hoping that they will still see Ruby Rose and Petty in season 5. The former was only seen for a few seconds in season 4, while the latter was last seen being taken to the psych ward. While the Australian model's return might depend on how heavy her schedule is, Petty is convinced that she will be back next season. However, she also pointed out to The Hollywood Reporter that the show has a lot of story arcs to cover next season.

"Orange Is the New Black" season 5 is expected to return to Netflix by June of 2017.
