'Outlander' season 3 spoilers: More of Jamie-Claire romance

(Facebook/Outlander)Season 3 of "Outlander" will feature more romantic moments for Jamie and Claire.

While it is still unclear as to when "Outlander" season 3 will be aired, as its season 2 has just concluded, fans are already speculating on the possibilities that may happen in the upcoming season. Among the many speculations, though, two of the loudest are the death of an important character and the reunion of Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe).

If "Outlander" season 3 will remain faithful to the novel where it will be based on, "Voyager," fans of the fictional-history drama can expect to see the death of one of its beloved characters, Murtagh Fraser (Duncan Lacroix), who dies in the Battle of Culloden in the book.

Nonetheless, there is a possibility for the character not to meet his demise in the TV series version as "Outlander" is reputed for tweaking the original story of the Diana Gabaldon's series of novels, opines International Business Times.

Apart from the possibility of Murtagh's death, fans are also speculating whether Jamie and Claire will be reunited. In the novel, "Voyager" opens with a revelation that Jamie actually survived the Battle of Culloden. It goes without saying that more than the shock, the news came more of a pleasant surprise to Claire.

Likewise, in the novel, Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin) and Brianna (Sophie Skelton) work hand in hand as they delve into the events of the past as they search for Jamie, and may be instrumental in reuniting the lovers separated by time and space.

"There's a lot of challenges to season three — there's a period of time where Jamie and Claire are apart; he thinks that he's lost her, or at least that she's alive and well. I think what's going to be most exciting is the reunion between Claire and Jamie and them discovering each other again and falling in love all over again," Heughan said in a recent interview with Variety.

Without question, "Outlander" is not done telling the love story of Jamie and Claire yet. Apart from the upcoming season 3, the series has already been green lighted for its season 4 as well and will be based on Gabaldon's fourth book in the series, "Drums of Autumn."
