Actor Logan Lerman played the titular role in the first two movie adaptations of "Percy Jackson & the Olympians." New rumors suggest the novel will be adapted for television with a new cast.

Fans of the movie "Percy Jackson" were saddened when actor Logan Lerman declared that a third sequel is not happening. New rumors, however, suggest that a TV series will be made instead.

After playing the titular role in the movies "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" in 2010 and "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: Sea of Monsters" in 2013, Lerman said "It's not happening," when asked about the possibility of a third sequel.

The movie is based on a novel series by author Rick Riordan whose third installation, "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Titan's Curse" has yet to be adapted for the big screen. In an interview with MTV News, Lerman said, "It's been a great experience for me. It's opened up a lot of doors for me, but I don't think it's happening."

According to reports, The CW network will adapt the novel for television instead, and has already allocated a budget for the first season and a half. The budget is reportedly $12 million with a ready 10-year contract offer to the cast.

The report also states that Riordan has expressed interest to participate in the production but has also stated that he would like a new set of cast members to portray the roles. The book series only has three books so far, but Riordan is said to be willing to write more for the TV series.

Percy Jackson is a regular teenager who only discovered that he is the son of Greek god Poseidon when the novel started. As a son of a human and a god, he is called a demigod and he gets to meet others like him when a threat in his life led him to train and seek refuge in Camp Half Blood. In the camp, he began to form allies as well as enemies.
