'Person of Interest' season 5 spoilers: Reese and Fusco face off an old enemy in episode 9

(Facebook/PersonOfInterestCBS)"Person of Interest" season 5 episode 9 will show Reese and Fusco's face-off with an old enemy.

Reese and Fusco fall to the trap of their enemy from the past in the upcoming episode 9, titled "Sotto Voce," of the fifth season of the science fiction crime drama "Person of Interest."

The mysterious criminal behind the name "The Voice" pays a visit to his old foes, Reese and Fusco. His return entails trapping the pair into their own precinct, surrounded by numerous gang members and the latest person of interest. Root, on the other hand, discovers something very shocking.

The promo trailer for "Sotto Voce" shows Reese and Fusco being warned that some very bad things are coming their way as they exchange gunshots with the gang group that plans to trap them.

Shaw's return has definitely alarmed the team. Show creators Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman revealed Shaw's comeback and her reunion with Root.

"We felt like, when she came back, we wanted to deal with the Root relationship in an honest emotional way," Plageman told IGN. "We didn't want to dance around it anymore like we did for a while. After everything they'd both been through, they'd earned a big moment."

For now, Shaw is having a hard time dealing with her emotions, Plageman revealed. "So we thought one of the best ways to show Root her feelings was to have her continuously not kill her in these simulations, over and over. She turns the gun on herself. There's something even more powerful to that," he added.

Meanwhile, here is the rundown of the previous episode, titled "Reassortment." Reese and Finch were seen stuck in a hospital after learning that there was a deadly virus outbreak. Meanwhile, Samaritan's fresh recruit was having second thoughts. Shaw, on the other hand, was having a hard time facing her reality.

The all-new episode of "Person of Interest" season 5 will air on Monday, May 30, at 10 p.m. on CBS.
