'Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales' spoilers: New character joins the crew

Details about a new character joining the beloved "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise have been revealed.

It was revealed that the upcoming "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" will feature star of the UK series "Skins" Kaya Scodelario. With the "Skins" actress as the new female lead of the film, fans are curious to see what she will bring to the franchise.

Scodelario will be taking on the role of Carina Smyth, an astronomer who is determined to study at a University. Since the setting of the movie will be during the time that females were not allowed to study in school, she will be looking to find a way to change the norm.

It was said that Smyth will be joining Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow in his adventures to find the Trident of Poseidon. She believes that it will be the key in changing the fate of women, regarding their right to education.

It is believed that the one who has the Trident of Poseidon will have power over the seas. However, Smyth and Sparrow will not be the only ones in search for the Trident. It was revealed that Captain Salazar will also be looking for the Trident. With that, fans can expect Captain Salazar to complicate Smyth and Sparrow's journey.

Nevertheless, fans of the "Skins" are excited to see Scodelario star in another film. It is believed that her upcoming involvement in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise will boost her acting career. There are also speculations that she could be joining another popular franchise in the near future. There are reports revealing that she could be taking on the iconic character Lara Croft in the upcoming film adaptation of the "Tomb Raider" franchise. However, there has yet to be any confirmation regarding the matter.

"Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" is expected to hit theaters on May 26, 2017.
