'Pirates of the Caribbean' 5: Paul McCartney will be part of the latest movie

Since Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) burst into the movie scene with the first "Pirates of the Caribbean" film, there's no stopping its popularity. Now on its fifth installment, it has been confirmed that Paul McCartney will be joining in the fray.

With McCartney as part of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," it will be the second time that a rock musician will appear on the film. The first was Keith Richards when he appeared in a cameo role as Capt. Jack Sparrow's dad in "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End."

There are no news available yet on what McCartney's role is in the film. Moreover, the cast and crew of the film are keeping it top secret. Deadline, however, reported that McCartney will play an important part in the movie.

The fifth installment of the film is directed by the famous Norwegian pair, Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg. The duo is known for their Oscar-nominated epic, "Kon Tiki," which was about the adventures of the Norwegian adventurer Thor Heyerdahl.

Aside from Depp reprising his role as Jack Sparrow, Orlando Bloom and Geoffrey Rush will also reprise their roles as Will Turner and Barbossa, respectively. Javier Bardem, on the other hand, will be the antagonist Captain Salazar.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer also gave a teaser about the upcoming film by tweeting a scene from the movie with the caption, "Captain Jack is back and we're not letting him go." There are rumors, however, that the latest sequel will focus more on Bardem's character, which means that Sparrow will have a shorter screen time.

Disney is reportedly spending more than $250 million for this film despite the not-so-good ratings and reception that the previous film had.

"Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" will open both in UK and US theaters on May 26, 2017.
