"Pitch Perfect 3" has been through a lot. The film was previously scheduled to premiere on July 21, 2017, but was subsequently pushed back to Aug. 4, 2017. Now, however, Universal Pictures has officially moved up the film's release back to its original July date.

It has been reported that Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson will return to reprise their roles as Beca and Fat Amy/Patricia, respectively, in the third installment. It is expected that Hailee Steinfeld, who joined the Barden Bellas as Emily in the previous film, will also be back.

As for other cast members, Skylar Astin, who played Beca's boyfriend Jesse in the first two films, isn't sure how his character will fit into the storyline of the upcoming film.

"I really don't know where they are going to the story, where I fit in at the moment, and I'm okay with that because I've already dealt with that long lapse between the first and the second movie so I know how it slowly simmers, everyone talks about it, and then all of a sudden you know everything and you're shooting it like, in a week," the actor admitted in an interview with HollywoodLife.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Banks will also be returning to direct the third film, having previously helmed the sequel. While speaking to Collider in February about her film, "Love & Mercy," Banks teased that she's still in the process of going through prospects for big cameos in "Pitch Perfect 3."

There have also been rumors going around that pop sensation Justin Bieber will be joining the cast for the third "Pitch Perfect" film. The Canadian singer is apparently a fan of Wilson and would jump at the opportunity to work with her. If the rumor turns out to be true, it has been speculated that Bieber might play the role of Steinfeld's love interest. However, Emily was previously shown getting romantic with Ben Platt's Benji.

The news has not been officially confirmed, however, so fans should take the news with a grain of salt.
