It could be possible that 'Planet of the Apes 3' movie, set for a release on July 26, 2016, will not be the last movie in the franchise.

Movie Pilot reports that there could be at least two more movies waiting in line. The report further states that two more movies do make sense, considering that the movies are set far from the real Planet of the Apes stage.

Actor Andy Serkis, who plays the lead character Caesar, recently spoke to MTV news and said that it is difficult to tell where the story will go "at this moment," since the tale is far from being finished.

Serkis also spoke of director Matt Reeve's enthusiasm to continue making more Planet Of The Apes films in the future.

"I know part of the desire for Matt [Reeves] to do this next movie about continuing the enjoyment of seeing these apes evolve. It might be three films. It could be four. It could be five. Who knows? The journey will continue," said Serkis to MTV.

Serkis added that the full story might not be told in the upcoming 2016 film, and it's entirely up to Reeves if he desires to prolong the story-telling process.

"It might not necessarily be summarized or completely fulfilled in this next one. The point being, eventually we know that we're going to end up back at 'The Planet of the Apes,' but whether it's this film or not, I don't know" continued Serkis in the same MTV post.
