'Pokemon Go' and 'Pokemon Z' release date rumors: Early launch debunked; new character to appear?

Rumors about an early 2016 release for "Pokemon Go" and "Pokemon Z" have now been debunked because of the time constraint between their beta testing and their actual launch date.

Although this year marks the 20th anniversary of "Pokemon Red" and "Pokemon Green," the original Nintendo GameBoy games which were released in February 1996, it is very unlikely for the two new modern games to be released.

According to a report from MoviePilot, "Pokemon Go" is likely to be done with its beta testing after New Year and there is a very short turnover between the game development's announcement and release in February. It must be noted that "Pokemon Go" is a huge game that utilizes real locations where players need to physically go and accessories which they need to collect.

The exact release date for the role-playing game "Pokemon Z" is as elusive as that of the augmented-reality game "Pokemon Go." The lack of official announcement from the game developers could be an indication that its release is not yet coming anytime soon.

As MoviePilot further cited, Nintendo will not simply make a game available without any announcement. The franchise is known for its own cycle of releasing new games. As announcement material, they would usually have a teaser trailer or a Nintendo Direct episode for the game.

There are interesting speculations, though, that have been circulating online now that involves a specific character — the legendary Zygarde. This pocket monster is reportedly going to be a combination of Xerneas from "Pokemon X" and Yveltal from "Pokemon Z."

Zygarde's complete form is what made fans talking; its wings feature two different colors, red and blue. This could mean that Zygarde is a fusion of two creatures.

"Pokemon Z" is the successor of the popular "Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y" developed by Game Freak, a subsidiary of The Pokemon Company. The two previous games were released simultaneously in October 2013 on the Nintendo 3DS.
