'Pokémon GO' IV calculator: Which Pokémon are worth it based on Individual Values?

Just when players thought they have figured everything out on "Pokémon GO," new reports have unveiled that there is a science to choosing the best type of Pokémon to keep and train. This much was discovered when one user managed to interpret the mobile game's internal code.
Basically, each Pokémon has an IV, or Individual Value. As of now, there are three types of Individual Values that each of these creatures posses. The first one is Strength or Attack, which refers to the amount of damage a Pokémon can inflict on another. The second one is Defense, which tells a player how much damage a Pokémon can sustain. And lastly, there's Stamina, which indicates a Pokémon's HP. Each IV has a rating scale of 0 to 15. Across all these three categories, one thing is true: The higher the IV, the more powerful the Pokémon.
So how will this help exactly? Well, knowing the IV levels of each Pokémon in a player's collection will help determine which ones are worth investing in. A player would not want to invest so much time, effort, and candy on a Pokémon that has no hope for improvement. Naturally, investing in Pokémon with higher IV levels will prove to be a wise decision in the end.
In its base, a Pokémon's CP is what determines the creature's overall strength. However, it should be noted that there are other elements that may affect a Pokémon's IV. Power ups, evolutions, and trainer level can also influence this.
But how does one determine their Pokémon's IV?
Not all players are code experts able to take apart the internal workings of the augmented-reality game. Luckily, there is an existing IV calculator made by Redditors on The Silph Road website. All players have to do is go to the IV Rater tab, choose which mode (Easy or Advanced), select the Pokémon of choice, determine the trainer level, position the CP arc as seen in the game, check that the Stardust and Candy match the player's, enter the CP and HP of the Pokémon and finally, click "Rate my Pokémon!"
Once players find out the IV levels of the Pokémon, they can choose whether to train that particular one in the game or save the power ups for a different type.
