'Power Rangers' movie news: New images tease Zords; cast to attend NYCC event

The anticipation for the "Power Rangers" movie is slowly building up. Lionsgate has recently released new photos of the mighty heroes, as well as their respective Zords.
With Hollywood churning out nostalgic content as of late, it comes as no surprise that fans — both young and old — are greatly looking forward to the live action "Power Rangers." After all, the franchise itself has been around for a long time.
Now, thanks to Lionsgate, fans can say hello to the Zords that the heroes will be piloting. Images have been released and they definitely manage to rile up fans' excitement. Featuring a more futuristic and defined aesthetic, the Zords of the five Power Rangers are, without a doubt, awe-inspiring.
A proud Yellow Ranger is seen standing sideways on top of her Zord, while the Red Ranger sits atop his. Blue Ranger can be seen lying down on his side, Black Ranger looks equally awesome, and Pink Ranger is seen sitting on her Zord.
A close-up of their new suits was previously reported on. Since the suits are made by aliens, they grow around the wearers instead of having to put them on. Rita Repulsa, the antagonist, is also seen sporting a new look. Played by Elizabeth Banks, Rita looks stunningly evil in green and gold.
But Banks isn't the only notable name who has signed on for the film. Bryan Cranston will be bringing mentor Zordon to life, while Bill Hader will be lending his voice to the Alpha 5 robot.
As if that's not thrilling enough, Lionsgate also announced that they will be holding a panel at the upcoming New York Comic-Con. The cast and crew of the film will be in attendance. The New York Comic-Con is scheduled to take place on Oct. 8, Saturday, at The Theater at Madison Square Garden.
"Power Rangers" will hit theaters on March 24, 2017.
