'Prison Break' season 5 air date, updates: Dominic Purcell celebrates anticipation for show's return

The small screens are prepping for the return of "Prison Break," and as early as now, Dominic Purcell is celebrating just how big the hype is for the show's return.
On Tuesday, Purcell, who plays Lincoln in the series, took to Instagram to share his joy and gratefulness for everyone's support. The photo was a screenshot of The Independent's article that displayed the headline: "'Prison Break' is 20 times more anticipated than all other new TV shows."
The subheadline further notes that "Prison Break" season five has taken social media by fire. The headlines are all but genuine truth as social media users have been talking non-stop about Fox's revival of one of the most gripping dramas in the history of television.
In his post, Purcell revealed that he never doubted how "Prison Break" will be accepted after many years of not being on air. He added that he is humbled, along with the cast and crew members, to be part of the series.
Meanwhile, Purcell has been showing off Lincoln's tattoos over the past couple of weeks. Though not much is known about how his tattoos will play in "Prison Break" season five, it is widely speculated that he may resort to the same tactics that his brother, Michael (Wentworth Miller), used in the first season.
As loyal followers of the series know, Michael had himself inked with the blueprint of the detention center where Lincoln was held back in season one so he can save his older brother from perishing behind bars. In "Prison Break" season five, it will be Lincoln's turn to break his brother out and with tattoos that appear to be maps of certain regions, history could repeat itself.
Michael is held in Yemen and things wil becomel more difficult for the siblings when "Prison Break" returns. This is because the two may not be very well aware of how breaking out is in a foreign land. Lincoln won't just try to get Michael out of prison; he will need to get him out of the country and back to their hometown. That is the trickiest part of all.
Will the brothers make it out alive? Find out when "Prison Break" season five premieres sometime 2017.
