'Red Dead Redemption 2' release date, rumors, news: Analyst claims PC version will arrive at a later time

(Facebook/rockstargames)"Red Dead Redemption 2" will arrive in the fall of 2017.

It's been a long way coming, but "Red Dead Redemption 2" is finally a go. Rockstar Games confirmed in a series of teaser photos and a trailer that the upcoming game will arrive sometime in the fall of next year. However, PC gamers may have to wait longer than everyone else.

When the studio revealed the game's intended release, they indicated that the anticipated sequel would arrive on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. This led to players on the PC to be rather disappointed. It can be recalled that the first game, "Red Dead Redemption," also didn't have a PC version.

Will Rockstar Games follow the same pattern this time around?

According to Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter, it probably won't. While speaking to GamingBolt, Pachter noted that Rockstar Games has a penchant for not releasing a lot of information about its games in one go, recalling the strategy they adopted with "Grand Theft Auto 5." So the PC version may still see the light of day, but it may take a while before the studio decides to announce it.

"Here we are, you know talking about 'Red Dead Redemption 2,' which is coming out in a year, and not talking about all the games that are coming out this week. So, they're smart. They've diverted the conversation to them. That's almost Trump-like- stay in front of the news cycle, and it works," Pachter said.

Last week, Rockstar Games made headlines when they released teaser images, along with a trailer, which confirmed numerous rumors that have been building up for several months. The teaser video features life in the wild west — a seemingly simple one that folks in that town go through day in and day out. However, the clip also teases a big tragedy that will change them forever.

Needless to say, fans are already looking forward to "Red Dead Redemption 2."
