'Red Dead Redemption 2' release date: Game won't be unveiled at Gamescom Expo event

(Facebook/Red Dead Redemption)It is said that Rockstar Games is not releasing any of its new games earlier than April 2017.

After getting disappointed over the non-mention of "Red Dead Redemption 2" by Rockstar Games at last month's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), hope may not be totally lost for fans of the game as the announcement of the highly anticipated game may just happen at next month's Gamescom Expo 2016 in Cologne, Germany.

Speculations that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be announced at the said upcoming event started when it was learned that Rockstar Games' mother company, Take-Two Interactive, has enlisted itself as a participant in Gamescom Expo 2016 happening next month.

However, the renewed hope of the fans for the unveiling of the game was soon doused as reports reveal that Rockstar is not revealing any of its new games anytime sooner than April 2017, which may include "Red Dead Redemption 2."

The news didn't really come as a surprise to many gaming pundits. With the popularity of "Red Dead Redemption," many opine that the Gamescom Expo 2016 is just not the best venue for it to be unveiled. Gaming Bolt, for instance, even referred to the assumption of the unveiling of "Red Dead Redemption 2" at the said upcoming event as something less than sensible.

For the said online gaming publication, there is no questioning that "Red Dead Redemption 2" is in the pipeline. However, those expecting that it will be released in low-profile events, such as the Gamescom, must be crazy. It opines that it is very likely for the studio to announce it in the same manner it unveiled its "Grand Theft Auto 5," which was revealed on its own website.

Prior to its non-announcement at the E3, many people thought that it was almost certain for "Red Dead Redemption 2" to be unveiled at the said event as alleged maps for the said game already leaked online. In a NeoGaf forum, though, it was apparent that the supposed maps of "Red Dead Redemption 2" did fall in the good graces of the gamers, many of whom said they were not good enough.
