'Red Dead Redemption 2' release rumors: Sequel to be unveiled at PS4 Neo event next month?

(Facebook/Red Dead Redemption) Rumor has it that the sequel to Red Dead Redemption will be unveiled next month.

Although there is no official word from Rockstar Games, rumors claiming that the next "Red Dead Redemption" game will be released next month are making waves.

According to a report, the next "Red Dead Redemption" game will share the spotlight with Sony's PS4 Neo as the game will allegedly be unveiled at the same event that will launch the latest Sony console in September.

However, instead of bearing the title "Red Dead Redemption 2," the game will instead be known as "Red Dead Redemption 3." While Rock Star's newest game is the third one in the franchise, it will be the second to carry the title "Red Dead Redemption." The first game is titled "Red Dead Revolver," and it was playable on the Playstation 2 and the Xbox.

While it's true that news about the release of the upcoming "Red Dead Redemption" sequel is music to the ears of the fans who have waited for the arrival of the game, they are advised to hold their horses as nothing has been confirmed yet. There are even reports saying that the game may not be launched at the PS4 Neo event. Rockstar is known for unveiling its games at its own organized events so the titles don't have to share the spotlight with other franchises.

Fans have been waiting with bated breath for the sequel to "Red Dead Redemption." In fact, many strongly believed that the game would be released at last June's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). However, the event commenced and concluded without even a mention of the game.

However, with a Twitter post from a certain Tidux — said to be a PlayStation insider — the hope of fans excited for the unveiling of the games were renewed. This came about after Tidux's tweet hinted at a meeting between Rockstar and Playstation: his post showed two emojis — guitar and a star — followed by the hashtag #PSM, or Playstation Meeting. This was interpreted by many as a Rockstar-PlayStation meeting, which is happening on September 7.

Will "Red Dead Redemption 2" or a "Red Dead Redemption 3" game be unveiled next month?

Fans can only wait and see.
