'Rick and Morty' season 3 release date news, plot rumors: new episodes coming early December?

(Facebook/Rick and Morty)The next season of "Rick and Morty" is rumored to arrive sometime December 2016

Fans have been waiting for new updates regarding the release of "Rick and Morty" season 3, but unfortunately, there's no official word yet. However, new reports suggest that the new season may start airing sometime early December.

The rumors stemmed from an earlier report that since the show's first season started airing Dec. 2, there is a possibility that Adult Swim will decide to launch the third installment on the said date as well this year.

It is worth noting that the network has not yet addressed the rumors, and so far, the closest fans have regarding the release of "Rick and Morty" season 3 is series co-creator Dan Harmon's statements earlier this year that the development team is looking forward to a late 2016 premiere for the upcoming installment.

Meanwhile, it is widely speculated that the new season will answer a lot of questions from the previous installment, including the fate of Krombopulos Michael, who was supposed to have died previously.

It is believed that Krombopulos will return for "Rick and Morty" season 3 so he can get Rick out of the maximum security prison where he is currently locked up. As fans know, Rick, for the first time in his immature life, made the ultimate sacrifice of allowing himself to be captured by the Intergalactic Federation so his family can escape and live on.

However, rumor has it that he won't be staying too long behind bars. Either the rumor about Krombopulos appearing to save him will take place or he himself will find his own way out of the prison.

Production has also revealed that "Rick and Morty" season 3 will be set in Hawaii. Though there is not much known about what exactly will lead Rick or Morty to Hawaii, fans can expect a lot of adventures for the duo when the new episodes start airing.

Adult Swim has yet to announce an official release date for the upcoming season.
