The details of Ronda Rousey's return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) are getting clearer despite the fact that there is no definite date when she will again step inside the octagon.

Renowned mixed martials arts (MMA) reporter Ariel Helwani spoke about Rousey's comeback in a series of tweets earlier this week.

Helwani began by saying there is no certainty for now regarding Rousey's next fight but there is "increased optimism."

It was stated that the goal for "Rowdy" is to again fight in UFC's first card in New York. But Helwani mentioned the "minor knee surgery" the former women's bantamweight champion had just two months ago. This could also be a reason why she is yet to compete.

Helwani then explained that before, Rousey's return was targeted for November but now it changed to "early 2017."

Rousey last fought in November at UFC 193 versus Holly Holm. With the women's bantamweight title on the line, Holm dominated her. "The Preacher's Daughter" outstruck her before scoring a head kick knockout in the second round.

It was an embarassing loss for Rousey just because she was outclassed by Holm. It was also a tough one since it was her first defeat in MMA.

Since then, Rousey has been out of action although when she fights again it will be for the title.

UFC president Dana White assured fans that following UFC 200, when Rousey comes back, she is getting an immediate title shot whoever the champ is.

Current women's bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes already expressed the desire to face Rousey for her first ever title defense.

Nunes also named other contenders but Rousey is on top of her list. The Brazilian is confident she is capable of beating Rousey to keep her belt and prove that she deserves to be where she is right now.
