Fans have been waiting for the second season of "Secrets and Lies" for a long time. The latest rumors indicate that the show might return to the TV screens in July.

"Secrets and Lies" showrunner Barbie Kligman told fans through social media that the show might return soon, adding that it could come in July or earlier. Furthermore, the show's page on IMDB lists an episode for season 2 titled "The Brother" which is scheduled for airing on July 1, 2016.

Meanwhile, the show's writer Noah Nelson also gave his assurance to fans, saying that the show will return any time soon and that season 2 will really be awesome.

It can be remembered that previous rumors indicated that the show would premiere during the winter break, which did not happen. There are some speculations that ABC might just be trying to find the perfect airtime for the show. Other rumors, on the other hand, say that the delay has something to do with ABC promoting their summer schedule, that the show will be aired once ABC has finished its promotions.

Meanwhile, Ryan Philippe has already confirmed that he will not reprise his role as Ben Crawford in season 2. Fans may remember that he took the rap for Tom's murder in season 1 despite the fact that Detective Cornell's (Juliette Lewis) instincts told her that it was Abby (Belle Shouse) who killed him. Unfortunately, Cornell didn't have enough evidence to arrest her.

Spoilers reveal that season 2 will focus more on the story about the Warners. The wealthy family finds itself in the middle of a scandal when Kate Warner (Jordana Brewster) is murdered and Cornell makes Eric Warner (Michael Ealy), Kate's husband, the prime suspect.

Aside from this, Cornell will also be dealing with her own personal issues, especially issues that involve her daughter and ex-husband.
