'Sense8' season 2 renewal, rumors: Netflix cancels show due to lack of popularity?
The beloved sensates of "Sense8" may not be able to see a second season as rumors keep revolving around the show's alleged cancellation due to its lack of popularity among viewers.
While the Netflix series has gained a solid fan base during its first season, it wasn't able to establish the prominence that other shows on the network has managed to create in the hearts of small screens.
Rumor has it that Netflix has silently axed "Sense8" season two and is just waiting for the right time to announce the show's cancellation so fans who love the series won't be too shocked.
Another factor that Netflix should consider before canceling the Wachowski sisters' series is the fact that fans may feel really disappointed after being led to believe that there will be another installment to continue the sensates' intertwined stories.
Just a couple of days ago, "Sense8" posted a photo on its Instagram account, hinting that production for the second installment still goes on. "Who knows what lies ahead on the #Road2Sense8..." the post reads.
Another photo featured showrunner Lana Wachowski and other crew members massaging each other's shoulders while on break in between shoots. This could only mean that production for "Sense8" season two is well underway.
Filming took place in Chicago over the past two weeks, and despite the many cancellation rumors surrounding the show, it's very clear based on the show's official Instagram account that everything is going well and the team will definitely deliver the continuation of "Sense8."
Last month, the cast and crew hit Brazil with a bang, and though it has yet to be revealed what exact scenes were shot in the region, the photos suggest that there will be an LGBT element in the plot for the upcoming installment. This storyline will surely play well with viewers who are members of the LGBT community and those who are advocating for these people.
Netflix has yet to announce a premiere date for "Sense8" season two but it is expected to start airing sometime early 2017.
