'Sleepy Hollow' season 4 spoilers: Fox hunts for new female lead to replace Abbie

(Facebook/SleepyHollow)"Sleepy Hollow" loses two more cast members in the wake of Nicole Beharie's departure.

Fans caused an uproar when "Sleepy Hollow" season 3 killed off one of its main characters, Abbie Mills. And with season 4 on the horizon, many are wondering how the show will go on without a female lead — and it won't have to, at least according to a new report.

Like many shows, "Sleepy Hollow" requires a female lead. And according to TVLine, Fox is currently looking for someone to replace Nicole Beharie's Abbie. Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) will have a new companion come the fourth season who goes by the name of Anna.

Anna is described to be a skeptic of anything related to the supernatural, much like Abbie. Her attitude toward the mystical powers will cause her to butt heads with Crane. According to the description, "She's got a tough, take-charge personality, punctuated by a wry sense of humor. She's a born leader, but she also has a softer, more caring side which she rarely shows."

She is also a single mother to an 11-year-old named Stella and has previously served in the military as an officer. She has had experience in working for the Secret Service, mostly in a division called "Basement." The character is set to be 30-something years old and did not come with a required ethnicity.

But Beharie isn't the only one who has left the show. In a separate report from TVLine, Lance Gross and Jessica Camacho have also reportedly exited the Fox series. Gross played Daniel Reynolds and Camacho played Sophie Foster. According to the publication, Gross will not be making any guest appearances, whereas Camacho is set to make one or two.

The upcoming fourth season is going to change locations from Sleepy Hollow, New York to Washington, D.C. Along with new supporting characters, a new villain is also set to debut.

"Sleepy Hollow" season 4 will premiere in early 2017.
