Sony Xperia F8331 release date, specs rumors: Images of rumored flagship Xperia XR leaked; may be launched at upcoming IFA event

(Sony Mobile)Sony Xperia F8331 is dubbed at the moment as Sony's next flagship device from the Sony Xperia X series.

Following leaked images purporting to be of Sony Xperia F8331, the device has been tipped to be the next flagship device of the Japanese tech giant from the Xperia X line.

The said image is believed to be dubbed as Sony Xperia XR and may be launched at this year's Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin. XR is reportedly the next flagship device and will be sporting a quality build based on the recently leaked images. The images have also shown front-facing speakers along with a distinctive curved front glass. Moreover, the back of the device is showcasing a Light-Emitting Diode (LED) which is designed to improve the photo from low-light locations. 

The upcoming handset is also expected to be equipped with a 5.1-inch screen. Further, it will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, a USB Type-C Port, and camera which can both record a 4K video. The rear camera was rumored to be equipped with a jaw-dropping 21-megapixel unit while its front-facing camera may sport a 13-megapixel one.

The reported successor of the Sony Xperia X Performance will be boasting a Full HD display with a resolution of 1080p. On the other hand, the device is also expected to be armed with a 3 GB of Random Access Memory and 36 GB of internal storage capacity.

Meanwhile, the "Sony Xperia X Performance" was previously unveiled along with Xperia X and Xperia XA as the company's flagship frontliners from the Xperia X line series. The three of which were introduced at the Mobile World Congress 2016 during the first quarter. The handsets were released a few months after.

Also armed with an array of updated features, the Sony Xperia X Performance is currently retailed at $699.99.

The IFA 2016 will take place in Berlin, Germany in early September.
