"Spider-Man: Homecoming" is getting a new cast member. According to reports, Donald Glover from "The Community" is said to be in negotiations to be part of the upcoming Marvel superhero flick.

The Hollywood Reporter reported this week that the actor will be part of the cast but his role is being kept under wraps.

This is not the first time though that reports about Glover being part of a Spiderman movie emerged. Back in 2010, his fans started a campaign to make him land the titular role in the reboot, "The Amazing Spider-Man." He even supported the campaign, but unfortunately for his fans, the role was given to Andrew Garfield. With reports about his undisclosed role in "Homecoming," fans are starting to gain interest once again. He even played the role of Miles Morales, the mixed-race Spider-Man, in the Disney XD animated series "Ultimate Spider-Man".

Since details of Glover's "Homecoming" role is still unknown, all fans can do now is speculate. According to Slate, Glover can't play as Peter Parker's friend since he will be too old for that role, considering the movie will feature a high school Peter. Since Michael Keaton has already filled the spot for the movie's villain, Glover will likely be a secondary villain, the publication reported.

Glover will join the rest of the cast, which includes Tom Holland as the titular character, Zendaya as the female lead Michelle, and Marisa Tomei as Aunt May. Both Holland and Tomei appeared in the recent "Captain America: Civil War."

Alleged spoilers for "Homecoming" have already been leaked by 4chan. The lengthy post suggests that the upcoming release is based on the Spectacular and Ultimate Spider-Man comics. Although the spoiler report is thoroughly detailed, it should still be taken with a pinch of salt since it doesn't officially come from the production.

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" is scheduled to release in theaters on July 7, 2017.
