Ever since "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" premiered in theaters last year, fans have been anxious about the continuation of the saga's story. The latest plot twist apparently involves Supreme Leader Snoke being Luke Skywalker's grandfather.

According to reports, the plot revelation came in the form of a supposed script leak. The leak dives into a scene wherein Luke encounters Snoke, while the former is on a mission to rescue Rey from the latter's clutches. Their conversation eventually snowballs and Darth Vader is brought up. Luke, curious, asks Snoke of his relation to the Sith Lord, to which Snoke replies, "What father does not know his own creation?"

This implies that Snoke is actually Darth Vader's father, hence, Luke's grandfather. Since the "Star Wars" franchise has long expounded on the Skywalker family, it would not be surprising if the purported leak turns out to be true. But if it is proven correct, then Luke's family is definitely a complicated one. Thankfully, his presumed daughter, Rey, is on the good side of the war.

One theory that has caught the online world by storm also involves some parentage issues. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" revealed to everyone that Kylo Ren is Han Solo and Princess Leia's deeply troubled son. The theory suggests that Kylo is not actually their son; rather, a relative in some other way. This hypothesis is backed up by the argument that the film never explicitly said that Kylo is their son. However, there are also those who disagree with the theory.

The "Star Wars" saga is one that every generation can relate to, which is why the upcoming film has been surrounded by a lot of hype. Adding to the already building excitement is the teaser offered up by Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker. Hamill revealed at the "Star Wars" Celebration in London that the eighth installment is packed with a lot of new catchphrases that will "make you forget all about 'May the Force be with you.'"

"Star Wars Episode 8" will premiere on Dec. 15, 2017.
