There are rumors that that a brand-new enemy will be introduced in the upcoming season's second half. The villain will appear in the form of Yellow Diamond. She will sport a short bob hair and she hates planet Earth more than anything in existence. With her hatred and wrath, she is capable of causing a huge destruction. With her presence, it is expected that the Crystal Gems will be having a hard time dealing with her.

Steven and Peridot will come across with the Yellow Diamond after she lands on the surface of the Earth. It can be remembered that Peridot left her Homeworld and moved on the Earth due to her disobedience. Then, she became an official part of the Crystal Gems.

The Yellow Diamond's power is known to be connected to her temper. Thus, the angrier she gets, the more powerful she becomes.

Recently, Boom! Studios, an American comic book and graphical novel publisher, held a convention at the WonderCon 2016 in LA. It revealed new covers for cartoon shows including a brand-new cover for "Steven Universe and the Crystal Gems #1."

The said cover was reportedly inspired by Steven Sugar, the brother of "Steven Universe" showrunner Rebecca Sugar. Steven is the main inspiration for the animated series and also the background designer for it.

The series revolves around Steven, his powers, and saving the world. It is set in the fictional Beach City. The Crystal Gems — Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, and Steven — are the ones who protect the world from the villains. Steven figures out his powers passed down by his mother — his ability to merge the bodies and abilities of the Gems.
