'Suicide Squad 2' rumors, update: production kicks off spring 2017?

(Facebook/Suicide Squad)"Suicide Squad 2" has not been officially announced by Warner Bros. yet but rumors are already rife about the alleged sequel's plot

Following the release of "Suicide Squad" in theaters earlier this month which garnered a number of bad reviews but raked in tons of cash for Warner Bros., there are new rumors suggesting that filming for the sequel will start by late spring 2017.

According to the rumors, director David Ayer has actually been working on the script since last month. This could mean that after Ayer is done with it, casting and other things needed for production will follow soon after, which is probably why the speculations point to a possible production start date of 2017's spring season.

The reports add that fans should expect less computer-generated imagery for "Suicide Squad 2" and pop music will be completely eliminated. The budget will allegedly be lower, as opposed to the $175 million dished for the first film.

The most interesting part of the rumors is that of a threat which will be more human. There is nothing much known about the said plan for "Suicide Squad 2" but if this new threat will be a human, it could mean that the unlikely team of heroes will face either some struggles of their human sides, or humans will be their main enemies. It would be interesting to see how this turns out for the misfits since they ended up serving the world. If they will be betrayed by the people they're trying to keep alive and safe from harm, this could open doors for a third installment.

On the other hand, there's also the possibility that this "more human threat" that the rumors are referring to is none other than Deathstroke, who has been previously rumored to make an appearance in the unannounced but already highly-anticipated "Suicide Squad 2."

Deathstroke is a very prominent name in the DC Exended Universe (DCEU). He is an assassin and is considered to be the top mercenary in the DC Comics world. He was first introduced in "The New Teen Titans #2."

This prediction has not been confirmed by Warner Bros. either so it is best that fans wait for official announcements before taking the rumors seriously.
