When news came that "Supergirl" would have a second season, fans were ecstatic, even if it meant the Girl of Steel had to move from CBS to the CW. However, after the good news, there seems to be some black clouds hovering over National City because Cat Grant, who is played by Calista Flockhart, might not be in the second season.

The news came after rumors began to swirl that production would have to move from Los Angeles to Vancouver, Canada. It is common knowledge that Flockhart is from the Los Angeles area, and the actress hasn't made any commitments nor confirmation that she is willing to make the move.

The CW president Mark Pedowitz said, however, that they are having discussions with the actress, saying that they are "happy to have her in whatever capacity is worked out." According to observers, this might mean that although Flockhart is still part of the show, she won't be appearing as often as she did in the first season.

Besides this, there are other rumors that indicate some decisions have already been made but not yet announced. One of those decisions, according to speculations, is that some of the major characters in the television series would have their roles reduced because of the move.

But Pedowitz dismissed these rumors, saying that there won't be any major changes in the show despite the location and network shift.

He also added that with "Supergirl" now part of their network, they are planning to have four major crossovers this year with "Arrow," "The Flash," and "Legends of Tomorrow."

"Just imagine what our superhero crossover episode is going to look like come December," he said and touted it as their "biggest one ever."

"Supergirl's" second season is scheduled to premiere in October and will air Mondays, 8 p.m. EST on the CW.
