'Supernatural' season 11 spoilers: Brothers protect Lucifer/Castiel

(Facebook/Supernatural)Another mysterious case for Sam and Dean

As Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) continue their war against darkness, they will find themselves protecting Lucifer/Castiel (Mark Pellegrino/Misha Collins) against Amara (Emily Swallow). In addition, they might also need the help of their prophet friend Chuck (Rob Benedict), who could be really god.

The synopsis for the 21st episode of the season, titled "All in the Family," says that "Amara shows Dean how she's torturing Lucifer. Worried for Castiel, Dean and Sam come up with a plan to rescue him from Amara's clutches."

Previously, Lucifer tried to inhabit Sam with the promise that he will totally eliminate darkness. However, it was Castiel who offered himself to be inhabited by Lucifer to help the brothers win.

As the season finale draws near, the brothers will also meet another friend once again - their writer/prophet friend, Chuck. Entertainment Weekly reports that CW has already released some promotional photos for the upcoming episodes, one of which shows Chuck with his laptop in front of him.

With these come speculations that Chuck could be writing another prophecy. However, the report also says that Chuck gave the brothers an "interesting proposal." Whatever that proposal is, it seems that Chuck's arrival came just in time as Amara terrorized the small town with the dark fog.

There are even speculations that Chuck might be god himself and that Amara unleashed her power to lure him back.

Movie News Guide says that there are clues that show Chuck might be god himself. One example is when Castiel informed the brothers that there can only be one prophet at a time. It could be remembered that Kevin Tran was also declared as a prophet while Chuck was still very much alive and kicking. Moreover, Tran did not exhibit the same powers and abilities that Chuck has.

To find out the truth, watch "Supernatural," which airs every Wednesday at 9 p.m. EST on CW.
