'Switched at Birth' season 5 spoilers: Bay confronts Kathryn about the divorce

(Facebook/SwitchedatBirth)Bay wants to forget her problems in "Switched at Birth" season 5.

Bay (Vanessa Marano) will quickly regret returning home in the upcoming season of "Switched at Birth." What kind of problems will the teen encounter back in Kansas?

As per the promo released by Freeform, Bay and Daphne (Katie Leclerc) will travel home from China after receiving that mysterious call in the last finale.

While at first, Bay is excited to be back, she will soon change her mind when problem after problem beset her and her family. First, her birth mother Regina (Constance Marie) has a boyfriend. While that in itself is not the problem, the fact that Luca (Michael Galante) is so much younger than her is. The clip shows that the guy looks like he is of the same age as Bay.

While the girls want Regina to be happy and to start dating again, picking someone like Luca for her boyfriend is not an option. Regina also looks like she is regretting getting involved with him too. In the teaser, she is telling Luca that a relationship between them is wrong. The guy, however, convinces Regina that he does not care what other people will say, as long as they are together. If Bay and Daphne will have plans to separate their mother from her new lover, they have a lot of work to do.

Aside from Regina's newfound love, Bay will also worry about her other mother, Kathryn (Lea Thompson). As per Game N Guide, the premiere episode titled "The Call" may only be pertaining to two things. One, Kathryn wants to talk to the girls about her plans to divorce John (D.W. Moffett). Second, John is dying from his illness and Kathryn's decision to end their marriage is not helping in his recovery. Whichever scenario will turn out to be true, Bay, as well as Daphne, will likely confront Kathryn and make her change her mind about the divorce.

"Switched at Birth" season 5 will air on Jan. 31 at 9 p.m. ET on Freeform.
