"Switched at Birth" fans are waiting to find out what will happen next to Bay and Daphne and how they will deal with the challenges they are facing. On top of that, there are rumors that a possible life-altering situation will happen to one of them.

When the show's fifth season comes back on air on August 24, it will pick up where season four left off, with Bay reeling from her breakup with Emmett, who claims he does not feel a spark in their relationship anymore. Daphne is struggling with her school grades and her desire to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor.

But what has kept fans on edge is the revelation that someone is dealing with an "unexpected pregnancy." Right now it is anyone's guess. Bay could have gotten pregnant after being with Emmett or it could be the aftermath of the assault on her. And if it is her, will Emmett come back?

There is also the possibility that it is Daphne and this will become an additional burden on her already heavy load.

Vanessa Nicole Marano, who plays Bay, says in an interview that the popular "ABC" show will "tackle pregnancy in a way that's going to have fans talking."

Aside from that, it appears that more problems are coming to the Kennish family. According to Lea Thompson, who plays Kathryn Kennish, the family will be experiencing huge financial problems.

"They're so used to being able to fix everything and being the mama and papa bear, but they can't this time and that's going to be really hard on them," the 54-year-old actress said.

"Switched at Birth" is a family drama series about two teenagers who were switched at birth and consequently grew up in two very different environments. Bay Kennish grew up in an affluent Kansas City suburb while Daphne Vasquez was raised in a low-income neighborhood.
